Who we are
WhatsMostSearched.com is run by Durellem Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17335634), registered office 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. Durellem Ltd is the controller of the personal data described here. For anything about privacy, email hello@whatsmostsearched.com.
What we collect, and why
When you visit the site. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as your IP address, the page you requested, your browser type and the time of the request. This is needed to deliver pages and to protect the site against abuse.
We measure visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It gives us aggregated statistics, such as page views, referring sites and visitor countries. It does not use cookies or local storage, does not track you across other websites, and does not build a profile of you.
On a phone, the install hint remembers on that device how many pages you have opened and whether you closed it. We never receive that note.
The Trending shortcut remembers, on that device only, the last country page you opened. We never receive that note.
We count five things about the phone app, as a daily total plus the country and nothing else: the install note being shown, the install note being closed, the app being installed, the app being opened, and a Home or Trending shortcut being used. This uses the same cookie-free analytics as the rest of the site. We do not keep an IP address or a user id with those counts.
On an iPhone the install itself is not reported, so the first time the full-screen app is opened is counted as the install. The phone remembers that, on that device only, so it is not counted again. We never receive that note.
When you email us. We receive your email address, your name if you include it, and your message. We use this only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation. Our email is hosted by Loopia AB in Sweden.
People named in search data. Our lists reproduce search queries exactly as Google publishes them. Some of these queries contain the names of real people, often people who are in the news. We publish them because they are a record of public search interest. We do not add any other information about the people named. If you are named in a query on our site and object, contact us. We will review the request and remove the query where your interests outweigh the public interest in the record.
What we don't do
We don't show ads, sell data, build profiles, run accounts or send newsletters.
Legal basis
We rely on legitimate interests: running a secure website, understanding its use in aggregate, replying to messages, and publishing a record of public search interest.
How long we keep data
- Technical and security logs: kept by Cloudflare only as long as needed to deliver and protect the site, under Cloudflare's own privacy policy.
- Analytics: kept only as aggregated statistics.
- Emails: kept for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless we need them longer for a legal reason.
Who processes data for us
- Cloudflare, Inc. handles hosting, DNS, security and analytics. Cloudflare is based in the United States. Transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension, and by standard contractual clauses.
- Loopia AB (Sweden) handles email. Transfers from the UK to the EEA are covered by UK adequacy regulations.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict your personal data, to object to how we use it, and to receive a copy of it. To use any of these rights, email hello@whatsmostsearched.com. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or to the data protection authority in your own country, such as IMY in Sweden.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top.
